Fantasy Football ADP Battles: Wide Receivers

We cover some of the main variances between our positional rankings and the Fantasy Pros' ECR in this third episode of the SGPN ADP war series (Expert Consensus Rankings). We intend to provide you a significant advantage going into your draughts this summer by finding individuals that are currently being undervalued in the fantasy community. I'll talk about wide receivers in this article and where I think there are some major discrepancies between our rankings. This features a top-15 Wide Receiver who was selected way too early in fantasy draughts and two underrated possibilities with enormous potential.

Hunter Renfrow

Fantasy Pros ECR: WR35 My Rank: WR29

Renfrow is listed as a WR3 in Fantasy Pros' ECR despite having finished as a WR1 in PPR leagues. Renfrow is one of my favourite sleepers, and this criminal level of contempt demands warrants. He had an outstanding season last year, earning 1038 receiving yards, a 21.7 percent target share, and a Pro Bowl selection. With the addition of Devante Adams and a healthy Darren Waller, it is simple to understand how Renfrow's output will decline. Renfrow will deliver value for his current ADP even though I agree that he won't be the top target. Waller is excellent, but he has never consistently played at the level he did in 2020. Only 1.8 more than Hunter Henry, he had a 12.1 PPG average the previous year.Although Renfrow had a bond with Carr last year that I anticipate to strengthen moving ahead, Waller is one of the best players in the NFL.
Since Waller and Renfrow are receivers of Waller and Renfrow's level, Adams is expected to be the top option as well. He won't likely be able to produce the 150+ targets a game he was used to in Green Bay. Additionally, throughout the past couple of seasons, the Raiders' offence has been among those with the lowest passing volume in the league. With all these tools at Josh McDaniels' disposal, this is likely to alter. Carr's career high for touchdown passes is 32, which he ought to surpass this year. Renfrow doesn't have to end as a WR1 in 2022, even though it seems improbable given his current ADP. He is being selected because he is one of the safest purchases in fantasy right now at his absolute floor.

Allen Lazard

Fantasy Pros ECR: WR47 My Rank: WR37

Lazard is another Wide Receiver who is rated too low, as he will be in an excellent position in 2021. Devante Adams, who was previously noted, is no longer with the Packers, and Christian Watson is the sole notable replacement. Although the young prospect from North Dakota State is extremely talented, he is still young and will probably need time to mature. Randall Cobb, Sammy Watkins, and Robert Tonyan are the only other competent receivers for Green Bay. Lazard is thus the undisputed front-runner to head the Packers' receiving unit in 2022. Aaron Rodgers' primary target won't end the year as the WR47. Although Allen Lazard is the most likely candidate and an inexpensive alternative with a high ceiling, there is a risk that he won't be.

But it's no secret that Lazard has underperformed over the past few years. He has had numerous chances to take over Adams' WR2 position, but he hasn't done it regularly. In his four-year career, Lazard has never received more than a 15.3 percent target share, or 513 yards. There's no other place for the targets to go this season, despite what the analytic specialists will shout at me. The Packers will continue to be a high-volume passing club even with one of the league's finest quarterbacks in Aaron Rodgers. He is the Packers' most likely breakout possibility even though he doesn't have a particularly impressive skill set. Nobody else in his price bracket can claim to have Lazard's top 15 Wide Receiver upside for this season.
